RuFuS is a non-invasive medical sensor that uses radio waves for rapid assessment of heart failure. The device can detect the early stages of pulmonary congestion - one of the earliest signs of worsening heart failure.
The technology analyses how an electromagnetic signal passes through the chest. Congestive fluid changes the propagation properties of the waves, so analysis of the reflected and transmitted signal allows its quantitative assessment. A measurement takes a few seconds, requires no specially trained operator and uses no ionizing radiation.
